About Us

In 1952 Rieber & Sons and Tarkett, founded Rikett™ in Bergen, Norway to manufacture Quartz Tile. Rikett invented Rikett Quartz Tile, (RQT), as an alternative to homogeneous tiles using asbestos and carbonites. During the 1950’s, an enlightened environmental vision enabled Rikett to replace the harmful chemical asbestos with Quartz, a safe and abundant natural mineral. The new Rikett Quartz Tile was, and still is, vastly superior in strength, flexibility, and performance to all other composition floor tiles. For over 70 years, Rikett has successfully manufactured and sold over 2.5 billion square feet of quartz tile worldwide. Rikett launched RQT in the US market in 1999.

Rikett America, (City of Industry, CA) and Rikett Asia Holding, Ltd., (Hong Kong), maintain a deeply interconnected relationship. These two corporate entities are operationally linked, showcasing a strong and enduring partnership that transcends geographic boundaries. Each act as a distinct reflection of the other in their respective markets, while adhering to a cohesive, unified global business approach. They strategize the growth of their business, setting shared objectives, and synchronizing operations to ensure seamless business operations across both continents.

Rikett operates multiple processing plants equipped with a diverse range of tile and sheet production lines. In 2012 Rikett invested in upgrading its manufacturing plants to improve the quality of its quartz flooring products. It added a state-of-the-art chip dispersion lines and equipment to apply Rikettseal™ PUR coating technology, which allows Rikett Quartz Tiles and Rikett Quartz Sheet to be easily cleaned and economically maintained for many years. Rikett Quartz products come with a 20-year limited commercial wear through warranty.

Rikett's production facilities take pride in the manufacture of a premier homogeneous sheet product, a top contender predominantly in the Asian market. In a strategic move to broaden their product presence, they are setting the stage for the debut of Quartz Sheet and Homogeneous Sheet in the U.S. market, with the roll-out plan set for 2023.
